Key HVAC Regulations in Dubai

DEWA (Dubai Electricity & Water Authority)

DEWA sets strict requirements for electrical connections to HVAC equipment. All installations must comply with DEWA's technical standards for power supply, metering, and energy efficiency ratings. High-efficiency equipment (EER ≥ 11.5 for split units) is preferred under DEWA's demand-side management initiatives.

Dubai Municipality Green Building Code (Al Sa'fat)

The Al Sa'fat green building rating system mandates minimum efficiency standards for HVAC systems in new construction. Buildings must achieve specific cooling load benchmarks (kW/m²) and demonstrate efficient equipment selection and design.
